SInce alot of photographers read my blog as well, I thought this would be a good time to post a picture and talk about some dark days of winter we may be facing and what do about them?
When this family contacted me, mom was a bit concerned that her place wasnt going to be ideal for photos...not enough places, not enough light etc...but made some suggestions of nearby locations in case I got there and couldnt see anything.
What I did find though were great wall colors, fair lighting and white ceilings. hmm, why did I look at her ceiling? Cause in the bedroom that had a great red wall, also had white ceilings in which I could bounce a flash up to the ceiling. The window was going to be behind me - great location, but a bit to far away...
Here are some results from this session. All with bounced flash... and one heck of a cute little guy.
Take Care!

Awesome.. I just had a shoot where the light was not so great.. one big window and that was about it.. and I did the same thing bounced the flash (sb800) off the ceiling.. and got some pretty decent shots I love these though.. that red wall is killer

Awesome! They totally do not look like you used flash, that window gave you great catchlights. How did you meter? Did you have to adjust the flash settings at all?

Have any of you ever considered a lightsphere...it'll soften the flash even more and distribute it more evenly. They are great for all types of shooting, indoor, outdoor, indoor weddings etc.
