I havent been to NYC since I was 13...man, I need to get out more. I'll be there until Wednesday evening, so again, if you need to contact me, email is best. I'll be emailing everyone regarding the mini sessions Saturday Nov. 4 this week, so watch your emails!
I bought my little one this plane at the airport on my last trip, and this was the scene while I was packing. I thought I'd put some pictures up, so I can look at them for myself :) (Call me selfish)

I did this fun shot over my summer vacation with my gorgeous nieces and it only took 2 tries (I think)
so when I had a group of great "tween" girls together- I had to try it again!! but this time there were ALOT more girls!! and it only took 3 tries!! (OK, I think they are all gymnastists )
I can only post one picture, cause they are PATIENTLY waiting on the rest...

Ok, this is as close to downtown Chicago as I got ~ haha!
ah, but thats alright! It was a wonderful experience with wonderful people! I met so many great photographers who I learned so much from!! And of course learning from one of THE best children photographers Audrey Woulard ~ what more could a person ask for ~ just check out her stuff!(sigh) She's been an inspiration and mentor to me since I got my first camera (and screwed up some shots) and continues to inspire me today - thanks!- although I swear, I stood in the same spot, shooting the same subject with the same camera, and I STILL can't shoot like her- she is AMAZING!!
Someone asked her while we were there what inspires her... and she said the kids she photographs. That really made me think. We as photographers often look around for inspiration - in other peoples work, in the environment, often times in ourselves..., but we somtimes just need to look at the subject we are photographing, the little boy or girl and make that connection, and get inspired by them- their cute smile - their laugh, their eyes..
We had the pleasure of photographing Ford Models from Chicago and mygosh - what gorgeous kids - who were soo comfortable in front of the camera.
Here are just a few.... I wont go crazy ;0) (although I could!)

{grab a cup of coffee, this may be a long post)
First the business - (get that out of the way)... I am going to be out of town October 20-22 and again Oct. 28-Nov.1 to attend a few photography workshop/seminars. I always feel there is room to grow in everything you do- no matter who you are and what you do. Sometimes even the littlest bit of "new" can spark a renewed inspiration that you never had or needed, so I'm very excited to go and be around other people who share the same passions that I do. So while I'm away these dates, phone responses and email responses may be delayed.
Now the pleasure.. the past week or so, I've had the pleasure of "re- uniting" with alot of past clients (as well as new) But I wanted to especially thank these past clients, as well as all my past clients for coming back the 2nd or 3rd time around! That means alot to me. Its fun for me to see how much your children have grown since birth, or since 1 year pictures etc... and what is especially nice is when they recognize me! I know some of you havent seen your pictures yet, so this may be a sneek peek, but just wanted to say thanks :)

As the holidays approach, we are reminded of how important our familes are.. its a time we think of bringing them together for photos..trying to get that perfect picture to send out in our holiday greeting cards.. but sometimes, its the outtakes that are the funny ones - the ones where the kids are laughing so hard.. it cant help but make us smile too:) The REAL stuff.. the giggles and laughter of kids :)

I'm not sure how many men read this blog.. maybe not too many..ok how about your husbands who go to work everyday - 9-5 or longer? sometimes weekends too? Well, look at this cute little guy and let this be a reminder to all of you to release the inner child in you! Loosen that tie and run happily through a field! 
or catch a bug on your finger and think its the most AMAZING thing you have ever saw in your life! Remember those days??
